    I am thinking of running for local office. What office is a good start and how do I get on the ballot?

    As a Vietnam Vet, I would like to see a VFW Facility in Orland Park.
    I am sure there are as many Vets in Orland as other Villages that have nice VFW Halls for the Vets to meet and hold their various funtions. Has any consideration been given to such a project?

    The Village of Orland Park currently allows the VFW and the American Legion to meet at their Brown Building located at West Ave. Each veterans group has been allowed to meet on various scheduled days. However, only a small handfull of veterans have keys to this building, resulting in limited veteran access. We need the Village to actually turn over this building to the either the VFW or the Legion or both, so all veterans can use the facility. And to keep this building open daily 9am to 5pm, I suggest moving the Veteran Administration empolyees from the Village hall to the Brown building. That would be a fantastic start.
